We are here at the Arnold Classic Figure, Fitness and Miss International pre-judging. The ladies took the stage at noon at the Expo. It was camera, lights, action!
Monica Brant:
It was a tad blinding when the first competitor came out. It was none other than veteran figure pro Monica Brant. She was noticeably smaller than her Olympia showing this past fall. She was as great as we've come to expect her to be. Her presentation was polished and graceful.
Mindi Smith looked great, her conditioning was very close to that of Nationals and her pro debut. Kim Tilden looked very muscular and very lean almost too lean.
Sherlyn Roy looked great with a great smile in her face. Her bouncy personality definitely comes through. One thing that was noticeably missing was her signature flower.
Krissy Chin is another competitor who has noticeably changed her physique over the course of time. She looked great! Good symmetry and muscular-but not too muscular.
Nicole Wilkins-Lee was beautiful but her conditioning was not as tight as it was when she won her Olympia title. She will definitely be in the top five.
Heather Mae French was another competitor in the first call out, she was beautiful as always with her signature pink suit. I must say that I would like to see her in her a different colored suit.
Angela Mraz stepped on stage today and it was her big pro debut. She was looked like she belonged on that stage. She was elegant and very graceful. She has a very bright future in this sport.
The call outs were interesting as the first the ladies in the first call out where also called out in the third and even fourth. It was very interesting and different to say the least. A lot of good competitors took the stage and they did not make it easy for the judges to say the least. We shall see what happens on later on tonight!
Fitness Prejudging
The fitness competitors took the stage in their two-piece suits. The difference this year was the competitors did not go on stage in their "cat suits". They did not do their fitness routines this morning. They only did their physique comparisons. Here's a little recap as to what happened today.
First Call Out:
A competitor who has to mention as one of the most improved physiques is Trish Warren. She looked fantastic. She was not too lean or too muscular, she was right on and her first call out spot was very much deserved.
Camala Rodriguez was also in the first call out and she looked great as well. She has good symmetry and overall well balanced physique. Adela Garcia was on today! She was lean and graceful. Her physique was flawless.
Julie Palmer and Tanji Johnson where also in the first call out. They both have great structures and great presentation. Tanji's legs were lean with a great quad separation.
Bethany Wagner had a great smile and a good overall physique. She was well rounded in terms of conditioning and muscularity.
The ladies will take the stage tonight for the fitness round. We are hoping to see some exciting and energy filled routines from these ladies.
The women took the stage at the Arnold Expo today for their pre-judging and by the looks of it Iris is here to keep her title. Her conditioning was spot on. She has such an incredible symmetry and full muscle bellies. She is one of those competitors' who has no glaring weaknesses. Her glutes were striated and her hamstrings were very detailed.
Debbie Laszewski who was also in the first all out was tight and conditioned. She carries a great deal of muscle on her frame. She says she's put on 7 lbs of muscle and it shows. Great hamstring separations and striated glutes. Very impressive!
Dayana Cadeau was among the women in the first call out. She looks smaller-maybe a little softer. She is very muscular but was a little too soft today. She has great symmetry and would do some damage if she came in leaner.
Yaxeni Oriquen-Garcia was lean and mean!! She was also in the first call out. She has great quad separation (Striated!!!) Great hamstring separation!! Glutes could have been harder and her back looks softer than her front.
The second call out was Betty Pariso, Lisa Aukland, Dayana Cadeau, Debi Laszewski. I have to say that I was surprised when Lisa Aukland was not called in the first call out. She looked great! Much improved from her last show. She was lean and with full muscle bellies and great symmetry. Her glutes were striated and her hamstrings were popping!
Betty Pariso was another competitor who came in lean! She has really brought up her legs (even though they could still use a tad bit more quad sweep). She looked great!
This was Zoa Linsey's pro debut. She had good quad separation and had a little trouble showing her hamstrings. She could use more back density and muscularity.
The fourth and final call out consisted of Dena Westerfield, Mah-Ann Mendoza & Jeannie Paparone. Very short but packed with muscle. She could have used better color. She has great symmetry! She could have been a tad bit leaner.
