The 2009 Emerald Cup Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championships and Expo and new Bikini division is approaching fast and is going to be an exciting 2 day event. We have dedicated this page to answer the majority of the Emerald Cup questions you might have.

The Emerald Cup is a fun filled 2 day event. Men's & Women's Fitness & Women's Figure takes place on Friday, April 17th at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA. Competitor registration is from 9:30 - 11:00am. The competitor meeting is at 11:00am, Doors open to the public at 11:15am, and the judging starts at 12:00pm, $20.00 general admission. The finals are at 7:00pm. Doors open to the public at 6:15pm and reserved tickets are $40.00, $30.00, and $25.00.

-> Hotel:

    For those of you flying in, the airport to fly in to is Seattle Tacoma International Airport (Sea/Tac).

    Our Host hotel is the Downtown Bellevue Courtyard by Marriott. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the Sea/Tac Airport, depending on the time of day and traffic. If you are planning on site seeing in Seattle, you might want to rent a car. Otherwise if you call the hotel, they will get you in touch with a shuttle company that will take you from the Airport to the hotel and can return you when it is time for you to go back to the Airport The cost is approximately $25.00 each way.

    The Downtown Bellevue Courtyard by Marriott is located right across the street from the venue, easy walking distance. The Downtown Bellevue Courtyard by Marriott is offering a group rate of $112.00 per night, single ??" quad occupancy. This is an excellent rate for Bellevue. It does fill up fast, so make your reservations as soon as possible. Call locally at 425-454-5888 and mention the Emerald Cup to receive the group rate.     The venue is the Meydenbauer Center. For those of you needing the address to plug into your GPS systems The address is:

    They have a parking garage there that, at the time of this writing, costs $15.00 a day to park in.

    Bellevue is just 20 minutes from Seattle. There are a lot of sites to visit. The Space Needle, Pike Place Market, the Waterfront, and EMP (Experience Music Project) are some of the most popular attractions for those of you wanting to make this a longer vacation.

-> The Show:

    Saturday, April 18th is the Bodybuilding Show. Competitor meeting begins at 9:00am and doors will open to the public at this time. Seating is $20.00 general admission The Bodybuilding Judging begins at 10:00am and includes the new Bikini division judging and finals which will start at 12:30pm. Doors open for the evening finals at 5:45pm with a pre-show Big Screen Video presentation by Terry Photo at 6:20pm. The Finals begin at 7:00pm Tickets are reserved seating, $40.00, $30.00, and $25.00.

    Friday night will feature Physique Artist Extrodinaire Russ Testo and the dynamic duo team of IFBB Fitness Pro Tanji Johnson and her sister Sophia. Saturday Evening Finals will feature IFBB Pro Big T - Toney "The X-Man" Freeman, IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale and the imfamous Russ Testo. -> Expo:

The Emerald Cup will feature over 80 Expo Booths that will be open to the ticket holders at both morning and evening events. Some of our featured sponsor booths for this year's show will be:

-> Photography Services:

    Mark Mason will again be the Official Contest Photographer and Videographer. Mark is making his photographic services available to all competitors and is offering the following packages. Contact Mark directly via email or through his website for further information or to schedule a gym shoot.

    Mark Mason says:

    • Prejudging Portrait:

      • Fitness, figure and bodybuilding portraits will be shot during prejudging the day of the show. I will be using a three-point lighting scheme for studio quality portraits. Your images will be available for download from my new website or I will be happy to mail them to you on a high resolution CD within ten working days. I sell you the rights to your images so you are free to use them however you like. Portrait pricing is $35 for twelve to fourteen images.

    • Night Stage Images:

      • Images of your stage presentation, comparisons, posedowns and any trophy awards will be captured and available to you either by download from my new website or mailed to you within 14 working days. Night Stage Images are $35 for your whole stage experience.

    • Video Packages:

      • The DVD that I produce is paced similar to a sports event as seen on ESPN. The DVDs will have a motion menu system broken down into divisions and height or weight classes. The DVD will also feature celebrity interviews and the guest posers routines. The Prejudging DVD is $35 and the Night Show DVD is $35. If you prepay both packages by the day of the show I offer a $5 discount. I am committed to having the finished DVD in the mail to you within 4 weeks.

    • Sunday Gym And/Or Studio Photographs:

      • I am accepting a limited number of clients for a one-hour gym and/or studio shoot featuring you training and posing at a gym in the Bellevue area. I will use three-point lighting similar to the photos in FLEX and OXYGEN magazines. The one hour shoot is $150. The images will be available by download from my website or mailed on a high resolution CD.

-> Competitor Resources:

    We have had several phone calls from competitors looking for competition suits. These are our recommendations as we have seen their suits first hand:

    • Merry Christine of M.C.Bodywear- Merry creates most of the figure and fitness pro girls couture suits. IFBB Ms. Olympia Figure Davana Medina will only wear Merry's suits for competition. She has a line of beautiful stock suits that are available for purchase off her site. They are just like her custom suits but they are moderately priced and you get the option of setting your own crystals that are included with your suit or have Merry set them for you. Her site also host's used suits that girls are selling.

    For those of you looking for a great bodybuilding routine we would have to recommend:

    • Northwest Bodybuilding guru Dave Patterson. Dave hosts seminars at the Renton Gold's Gym (soon to be renamed "My Fitness") every other Sat.: Feb 7, 21, March 7, 21 & April 4. He will be at the Fit Stop in Olympia on opposite Saturdays. The cost is only $50.00 and the time is 12:00 noon - 4:00pm. Dave will take you from beginning to end in your contest preparation as he teaches nutrition, cardio, 1/4 turns, mandatories, final week preparations, choreography of routines and music.
