On October 27th, 2007 there were 108 competitors who checked-in the day before and who now were waiting to take the stage at the OCB Yorton Cup Nationals. It was quite a turnout considering also that the show did not permit crossovers. The event was held near Washington, D.C. at the Bowie Center for Performing Arts.

The large audience was eagerly anticipating both the amateur as well as pro competition sanctioned by the IFPA. In addition, many were fans excited about a special appearance by veteran bodybuilder Chet Yorton, a former Mr. America and Mr. Universe!

All of the figure class winners were compared, and Monique Jones, one of the newest IFPA pros, who claimed victory in the Figure category at the 2007 OCB Charm City Classic competition in Baltimore to earn pro status, laid claim on this night to the OCB's national title with her OCB Yorton Cup victory.

    Among the women's bodybuilding class winners, Cheryl Szarmach was chosen as the new OCB Yorton Cup National Women's Bodybuilding Champion. She is the 2nd blue-eyed blond to come out of the Pittsburgh area and take the title in the past three years.

    The competition for the Yorton Cup among the men was truly fierce between the Novice, Open and Masters Class winners, but in the end, the new Yorton Cup National Men's Bodybuilding Champion is Willie Brown, the Novice Champion.

In conjunction with the amateur Yorton Cup competition, a pro competition sponsored by the IFPA (International Fitness and Physique Association) was held. The IFPA offers professional level drug tested physique and figure competitions. Affiliated amateur level organizations offer events that are designated as IFPA pro qualifiers.

Upon winning specified placements at an IFPA pro qualifying event and successfully passing all drug-testing procedures enforced at the pro qualifying event, an athlete becomes eligible to accept IFPA pro status and compete in professional level physique or figure competitions (whichever is applicable) sanctioned by the IFPA.

The Pro Yorton Cup is such a sanctioned competition. There were many amazing female and male athletes lined up to compete for this prestigious title.

-> Pro Figure Division:

    Eleven women stepped onto the stage to compete for the IFPA Pro Figure Title. Stephanie Miller from Virginia was back on top taking 1st place and a check for $3,000. In second place was Colleen Castaneda from Texas who earned $2,000 and Kelli Correa from Massachusetts was named Best Poser while winning 3rd place and a check for $1,100.

    Close on his heels was Doug Miller of Virginia who placed 2nd and took home $2,000. Doug came to the show if amazing condition, but just could not edge out Philip who was once again dialed it in! Third place and $1000 went to Kareem Petteway of Maryland.

    A well-deserved Best Poser Award and $100 went to Vaughan Twigger of Virginia with a very-entertaining routine based upon choreography inspired by the Michael Jackson Thriller video. It was quite entertaining and a well-deserved honor for Vaughan.
