Contest Review

The NPC Fitness, Figure, Novice and open Bodybuilding National Qualifier was held at the Dallas/Fort Worth Hilton Lakes Executive Conference Center.

This years event was a sellout for both prejudging and the finals, not only sold out, but were forced to go to a reduced rate ticket, standing room only crowd just 20 minutes after the show started.

-> Competitors:

    Over 130 competitors were battling it out for honors in their respective classes in the NPC portion of the Ronnie Coleman Classic. Competitors came not only from Texas but, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kansas, California and even Florida sent some of their best competitors.

-> Pre-Judging:

    The morning prejudging started sharply at 8am and was followed by the WABDL Ronnie Coleman “Big Bench Bash” with benchers of all weights and ages that set multiple state and national records.

-> The Expo:

    The Expo had a packed house with representatives from BSN, MetRx, Supplement Outlet, Fit Christian, E-zine, Labrada, FlexStar, Gaspari Nutrition, Max Muscle of Arlington, Kaged Muscle, XS Ranch, Open Door Ministries, Nexstar Nutrition LLC, Fitness Pro Direct, Team Impact, Rockhard Formulations, Europa, Wordens Whitetail Deer Farm, Body Attack Personal Training, Nikkis Photos, Roman Moreno DVDs, Dr. Michael Hughett D.C., Metroflex Gym and Bodybuilding.com.

-> The Intermission Entertainment:

    Intermission was even filled with entertainment courtesy of the Open Door Ministries Christian Rock Band “Joshua Rising” who brought down the house.

-> Guest Posers:

    Guest Posers included Jay Moore, training partner of IFBB Pro Branch Warren who was also in Attendance, and the contest namesake 8 time Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie entered the stage with very little pumping up, just a little oil and at 300 plus pounds was a sight to behold. Even at 5 months out from the Olympia he was incredibly lean and impressive.

-> Special Thanks:

    Many IFBB Pros were in attendance including figure pros Amy Peters and June Munroe, Female Body builders Betty Pariso and Bonnie Priest. And along with IFBB Pro Branch Warren were Art Atwood and Quincy Taylor who manned the Bodybuilding.com booth.

    The night show was emceed by Iron Man Magazine's Lonnie Teper who entertained the crowd to his best as he always does.

    You could say that this years event was a huge success and we are excited to see it continue to grow. A big “Thank You” to all who participated and we’ll See you next year.
