International Greats like August Smisl from Germany, Farid Usmanov from Russia, and Heidi Andersson from Sweden. With over 15 countries represented, this was a huge international talent pool.

Popularity:

Armwrestling has been so successful because anyone can compete, whether you are old, male, female, and even disabled, you can compete as an armwrestler. Joyce King Defeated The current Russian Champion in a fierce battle. Vern Martel, who lost the use of his left arm, won his right handed masters class mounting a stunning defeat over Aaron Lengyel.

Vern is a legend in the sport and hails from Canada. You may expect someone so explosive at the table to be a firecracker, but he is the most genuine person you would ever meet. That is typical of an armwrestler, always willing to teach you the skills needed to compete, usually after the beat you a few times.
