Diamond Gym owned by NPC NJ State Head Judge John Kemper once again turned out two amazing National Qualifying shows in one day. The Suburban & The NJ State Bodybuilding & Figure Championships. These shows turned out some of the best competitive struggles we've seen so far this year.
One of the longest running shows in NJ drew competitors from NJ, NY & PA. Judged by some of the recognized names in the business, Mr. Steve Weinberger (IFBB Judge) and Elena Semple (an NPC Bodybuilding competitor herself). They had there work cut out for them.
Guest posers of the night were Victor Martinez and Dexter Jackson - both IFBB Pros. They delighted the crowd by giving audience members an up close and personal view of these two Olympian Competitors. A spectator and NJ favorite that made an appearance, & also once a Diamond Gym member was IFBB Pro Craig Richardson.
The Figure competitors showed off there lean hard physiques while maintaining there feminine qualities which is the true essence of what Figure Competitors display today in our highly competitive field.
The MC for this event was Bill Grant of Bill Grant Nutrition (billgrant.net). Bill is one of bodybuilding's legendary bodybuilders and in his own right. Bill known by many stood strong back in the Pumpin Iron days with some of Bodybuilding's greatest athletes of all time.
Bill stated, "we've got a great night ahead of us." As he and all looked on to see if a NJ favorite would again take this whole show and gain a place to compete in the Jr. Nationals.
The biggest and most outstanding moment of the night was Heavyweight class bodybuilder Sean Jones. He came back once again to regain his title of "Mr. East Coast and went on to win the overall in both shows! With muscularity never before seen on a NJ competitive stage, Sean Jones dominated the competition with perfect symmetry and vascularity that earned him a perfect score by judges and fans alike.
Sean recently gained his US citizenship weeks before the show which is why he found it necessary to reclaim the title. Since his new US status makes him now eligible to compete on a National level. Keep an eye out, Mr. Jones is definately one to watch. Sean is on his way to the Jr. Nationals and he proved he earned his position there and we at Diamond Gym would like to wish our boy the best of luck!
A very special 'Thank You' to our main sponsor, Bodybuilding.com. And to there NJ State Representative Michele Lynn of www.Michele-Lynn.com. We thank her for another year of hard work and for all her efforts to help make this yet another great show. A thank you as well to all of our sponsors that continue there support each year. Without your valued support our past and future events would not be a successful!
