Once again the 2006 NPC Mike Francois Classic held May 13th had another great field of athletes. I marvel each year at the quality and depth of bodybuilders and figure competitors. The audience of nearly 800 spectators witnessed battle after battle as each division entered the stage.
The biggest battle of the night was saved for the Men's Overall. This time, as in biblical lore, David defeated Goliath as Omar Holt of Mansfield, the lightweight winner, took the overall crown. Omar looked spectacular and his conditioning was amazing. Omar, who placed an impressive 2nd at last year's North America, said he had never won an overall.
"I thought I had a chance,
but I was still a little shocked when
they announced my name."
Other winners of the night were:
Lisa Aranda - Women's Bodybuilding
Jim Brown - Men's Masters Bodybuilding
Dennis Santos - Men's Novice Bodybuilding
Lisa Dutko - Women's Masters Figure
Andrea Wadsworth - Women's Figure
They all looked tremendous.
