The 2006 NPC Julie Palmer's Ultimate Bodybuilding Showdown was held June 3, 2006 at The University of Toledo. Here are the latest pics and commentary from the show.

The 2006 NPC Julie Palmer's Ultimate Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Showdown was held on June 3, 2006 at The University of Toledo Student Union and showcased a great number of phenomenal athletes for the second year in a row.

This contest is only 2 years old but is growing with the number of athletes who have come out to support the show. With Junior Nationals only 2 weeks away, many of the competitors in all the divisions used this show as a warm-up to Juniors. Wow, what a great preview for those audience members.

Top Honors

Taking top honors in 3 classes was Brenda Smith. Brenda won the Masters Figure, Figure Class A and the Overall Figure. Look for great things from Brenda in the future at the National level. In the Women's Fitness Tina Durkin won the Overall Title. The Men's Novice was given to Justin Fargo who also won the men's heavyweight division.

The Overall Men's award went to Brian Yerskey who will also be competing in the Junior Nationals in 2 weeks. Amy Schmid, another national competitor won the women's overall title.

Special appearances were made by IFBB Pro Figure competitor Latisha Wilder, IFBB Pro Bodybuilder, Steve Burke and last year's overall figure winner and top amateur competitor, Mario Gibbon. The guest poser was national level competitor Joey Decamanida. Thank you to all of special individuals who helped out with the show and the competitors backstage.
