History will be made on Friday, March 3rd and Saturday, March 4th, when the 2006 ARNOLD FITNESS FESTIVAL will feature two PPV events. Never before have two PPV events been done on the same weekend by the same production company. Highbar Productions will be producing the events.
On Friday, March 3rd, at 9:00PM eastern time, the Gracie Fighting Championships will be presented live on IN-DEMAND PPV in the United States and on Viewers Choice in Canada. This event will feature the legendary Gracie Team from Brazil versus the Hammer House Team from Columbus, Ohio, featuring Marc Coleman.
The main event will be 6'2", 230 pound Daniel Gracie of Brazil against 6'10" Wes Simms from Columbus. In the co-feature, 18 year old Rhalan Gracie, the son of Rhelson Gracie will make his pro debut. A minimum of six bouts will be on the card along with a special presentation by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to former heavyweight champion Joe Frazier. Color commentator for this event will be the renowned Mixed Martial Arts Champion, Bas Rutten. On Saturday, March 4th, at 7:00PM eastern time, the Arnold Classic Professional Bodybuilding competition will take place featuring 15 of the top bodybuilders in the world including Dexter Jackson, Gustavo Badell, Victor Martinez, Lee Priest, and Johnnie Jackson.
Also, Governor Schwarzenegger will be making the Arnold Classic Man of the Year Award to 8 time Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney. This event will also be on IN DEMAND PPV in the United States and Viewers Choice in Canada. Color Commentator for this event will be the multi-titled, Masters Olympia Champion, Vince Taylor.
