Kettlebell Pistol Squat Guide

Main Muscle: Quadriceps

  1. Pick up a kettlebell with two hands and hold it by the horns. Hold one leg off of the floor and squat down on the other.
  2. Squat down by flexing the knee and sitting back with the hips, holding the kettlebell up in front of you.
  3. Hold the bottom position for a second and then reverse the motion, driving through the heel and keeping your head and chest up.
  4. Lower yourself again and repeat.

Aug 27, 2011 4:29 PM: This exercise is a personal goal of mine. I seem to lack the balance or flexibility to do this well. I am practicing without weight and I'm also doing it with a kettlebell and front squatting (both legs). I can't wait until I can do this well!

Aug 19, 2011 6:23 PM: Great exercise especially if you have lower back issues. can use light dumbbells instead of kettle bell and do a frontal raise to provide stability.
