This is hands down my favorite and least favorite chest exercise. It tears me up but since adding it to my routine I have added around 40lbs to my 5 rep max. Be careful not to go to low or you will have a very bad day.

This is a very difficult exercise to perform if you don't have enough strength for your body weight. At many gyms there is a machine where you can relieve yourself of some of the weight this requires. If that is not available you simply have to work on the exercise and gain strength so you can perform it regularly. For these people I recommend a rest-pause approach. If you are aiming for 10 reps do as many as you can, if you get say 3 reps and reach failure take a very short break 15 secs for example and try to do more even if its just 1. Continue this rest-pause process until you reach your goal. Then take a real rest of 60-120 secs before proceeding to the next set. -See Less

This exercise really focuses on the chest the lower you dip. If you shorten your stance it will target your triceps more. Really good workout for both tho.

Have found that this exercise is working my upper chest a lot better than barbell bench press. Now that I'm adding weights getting great results.
Best overall chest exercise, in my view.

Although there are only technically upper and lower chest, the fibers are banded across your chest in many directions. When you do chest exercises, you really have to focus on using your chest and not your triceps. It's a high-school mistake, but easily corrected.

Absolutely one of my fav workout! It works with chest/tris and core. Must hold your abs as you push, you'll feel the burn from your chest through your tris. :)

I consider dips equally important as regular bb benchpress. No other exercise works the upper chest and outer chest as well as dips.

One of my favorites. Put a DB between your locked ankles. Start with 5lb and move up. after you move on from bodyweight or assist of course.
