Feb 12, 2011 9:41 AM: Dont cheat and this machine will help anybody get abs. One thing I like to do is to keep my knees together. I think this helps keep my abs tight throughout the motion

Dec 28, 2010 5:37 PM: On your typical Ab machine, put the seat to its lowest position. This will usually give a nice stretch at the beginning of your movement and give you a full range of motion. Work the abs slowly for 15 reps all the way down and back up to the full stretch, but keep the tension on the abs.

One is the range of motion is poor so the abs are never in their fully stretched position so this does not allow for maximal muscle stimulation. Dec 26, 2009 7:04 AM: The abs need a full range of motion to be worked most efficiently. Depending on the machine, you may not be able to get a full stretch before contraction.
