How Did You Get Started?

I was always a very active person, but a few years ago I started jogging and ran a 10km, 2 half marathons, but felt like I needed more of a challenge. 2 years ago, I dreamt of eating a steak (after being a vegetarian for 7 years). Dwelled on it for a few weeks then just went and bought one and decided shortly after I was going to join the gym and I was going to compete in the upcoming provincial show. I really had no idea what I was about to get myself into. Researched on line, read lots of bodybuilding books and well, lets just say I am hooked for life.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Each time is a new and learning experience for me, but for the most part working out 6 days a week to build more muscle mass. Doing 50-minute cardio first thing in the morning, and sometimes a second close to competition time.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

As with my workout plan my nutrition is also a learning experience each time. You learn something new each time to do differently for each show. For the most part I eat 6 meals a day, every 3 hours, consisting High protein, very low carbs. I also drink about a gallon of water a day.

Proteins that consist of shakes, tuna, egg whites, chicken, and lean red meat. Carbs consist of oatmeal and brown rice.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I hate taking pills so most of my vitamins are chewable. I found that Kre-Alkalyn and Heat (fat burners), and Whey Protein work best for me.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I have always been very active but bodybuilding is something that I will never stop. It is not only about building muscle for me. It is about the mental and physical control. Bodybuilding is more a mental thing than anything, and the feeling knowing that I have total control is the best feeling ever. The gym is my time, no one can tell me when to do it or how to do it. Its all about how I want to look and feel.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan on competing in November in the Fame Show in Miami. After that I plan to compete again in NS Provincials for the over all championship and then do Nationals. My goal is to soon one-day work my way up the chain to compete in the Ms. Olympia.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Never underestimate yourself, if you can't do it right away, keep trying. Practice makes perfect. Life is too short not to do everything you want, never think that you can't do it, 'cause you can. You just have to do it.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I'd have to say that my all time favorite bodybuilder is Arnold Schwarzenegger. I learn most everything from his books and movies. For women, Gina Davis, she is not huge with muscle but she still has that beautiful girl-ness to her.
