How Did You Get Started?
I first started lifting weights at age 20 when a guy in England I was working with had a physique I admired. I bought my first Weider set and got to it, within 12 months I had gained 10 pounds of muscle. I had started at 132 pounds body weight.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
Sample 4 Way Split:
In recent years I have been splitting up chest & triceps, as I am a personal trainer. I am in the gym every day so I am able to work out 5 days a week. Chest on Monday & triceps Thursday giving time for my triceps to recover from working chest.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I am a nutritionist, so I have come up with a perfect system for clients and myself - 5-6 equal meals per day roughly 55% starchy carbs, 45% protein, (no added fat). Added to that is dairy/fruit & vegetables twice per day. All these are catered to suit the individual client.
This is basically my off season diet. For contest prep I will start with this around 12 weeks out. As my body fat drops and my metabolism kicks in I start to cut out the dairy/fruit & vegetables increasing my protein & starchy carbs, adding extra meals. Until around 2 weeks out I am consuming about 8 meals per 24 hours. My water intake also increases as I get closer to a show until I totally cut it out late Friday before the Saturday show.

Hydrolyzed whey protein powder.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
Bodybuilding is my life and my work. I love the high I get after lifting and the health benefits are huge, at 62 I am in the best shape of my life!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan to continue competing for as long as I can and compete in N.P.C. open classes as well as Masters. I will also continue to give back to the community by continuing to promote, together with my wife Mary Ann, our Southern Isles Bodybuilding & Figure Championship each year held in Savannah Georgia open to athletes nation wide. This year's show is Saturday July 22, 2006.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
You are never too old to start lifting and competing. Keep lifting strictly; cheating on heavy lifts will surely lead to joint problems and injury.
