How Did You Get Started?

I started when I was thirteen. I used to grab bodybuilding magazines from the store shelf and my dad would buy them for me. After reading word by word and looking at the pictures I realized I wanted to lift weights. I start working out at a small gym in my basement and after a year I signed to a local gym - I lift there for about one year and then I had to move to Chicago. First day after I arrived I bought membership.

I was working out and watching the bigger guys and how they workout... what they do. The rest of my knowledge I took from books and magazines. After a few years I got certified for personal training and started work. Right now I'm studying to become a nutritionist and in the future I want to open my own gym.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Lets see... The one I like most is a four day routine. The routine goes as follows:

Arrow Sample 4 Day Training Routine:

    Monday - Shoulders And Biceps: 4 exercises for shoulders: 1 for traps and 3 for biceps.

    Tuesday - Legs: 3 exercises for quads: 2 for hamstrings and 2 for calves.

    Wednesday - Off.

    Thursday - Chest And Triceps: 4 exercises for chest and 3 for triceps.

    Friday - Back And Calves: 4 for back and 2 for calves.

During that time I'm trying to focus on free weights and less on machines. I think free weights involve more muscle fibers and help to develop a nice and symmetrical look. I usually do 4 sets of each exercise and from six to twelve reps. Before each body part I do two sets with light weight as a warm-up. During my training I drink about one gallon of water and right after I consume carbs to refill the energy lost during the workout.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

During my bodybuilding carrier I stick to basics. Consuming about 1.5 grams of protein per lb of my bodyweight and about three to five grams of carbs. Supplements are important too - I use BCAA's before the workout and creatine/glutamine after the workout in four to six week cycles. Protein drink is a extra meal for me cuz sometimes I don't have time to make the whole meal and then Real Gains protein is a great alternative.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Like I said before I like Real Gains protein powder and also Creatine with Glutamine is great stack for size and strength.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I like to be someone that is sticking out from the average person - bodybuilding gives me that chance. I like to stay fit and be healthy.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

This year I want to compete in the Illinois State Bodybuilding Championships and I will try my best to qualify for Jr. Nationals. We'll see where I can go from there.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Train hard, stay focused and wait for results. Bodybuilding is a sport where you have to wait for results. Many people who start lifting weights are not happy with the results and stop working out; that is a big mistake.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I like Jay Cutler and Markus Ruhl. Jay has nice symmetry and great muscles, plus I see him a lot cuz he's always a guest poser in Chicago. Markus represents size and power - his muscles are huge and I like his diet.
