How Did You Get Started?
I started seriously in October, 2005. I had gained some weight and was smoking. I needed to get into the gym to put my energies elsewhere. I quit cold turkey and hit the gym. I did compete in 1986 before I was married or had my two children. I was always athletic throughout my life but other responsibilities always took priority.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
What I feel has worked best is constant change - I usually change my workouts every 6 weeks or so. As long as you are out of your comfort zone I feel you will advance.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I find a carb cycling diet works best. I will do 3 days low carbs and one day high. It keeps the metabolic rate at a constant. I use this when I want to lean down... otherwise a balanced carb/protein/fat split 40/40/20 10% above my BMR level to promote muscle growth
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I love Xtend. I drink it with all my workouts.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I like to work hard and love how one can manipulate one's body by nutrition and workouts. I also find it gives me great energy. It's part of my life now... I'm hooked!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I qualified to compete at the Canadian Nationals this year. I'm going to give the women's lightweight and masters classes a go.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Keep at it... and keep changing it up before you hit those plateaus.
