How Did You Get Started?

I have always been athletic, beginning with playing basketball through out elementary school, junior high and high school. At 18 years old I started lifting weights and have always lifted. I subscribed to various magazines such as Muscle and Fitness and Oxygen and always admired the Figure Competitors and wished someday I could do that, but never knew where to begin. Advancing to September 2008, I had lost touch with a friend for two years and I received an email from her titled "Before and After". Her before picture was 240 lbs at 5'3".

Her after picture, she was on stage competing in a figure competition! She found the person that could get her there and immediately hired her trainer. I was off and running. It was the hardest thing I had ever done, but I have now competed in two figure competitions, place 4th my first and 3rd my second show and am now focusing on another show in April 2010!

I love being in the best shape of my life, I am only living once. I love challenging myself and I like the idea that I am the only one that can get me to my goal. There are no obstacles but myself.

I will continue to compete in local competitions. I don't plan on going for a Pro card, I also have a demanding full-time job and I like the local competitions.
