How Did You Get Started?

I have been interested in competing in a Figure Competition for some years now. The first time I went to a show, I was amazed at all the hard work and dedication that goes into the sport. I was interested in competing, but was also interested in becoming a Police Officer.

Five years ago I began to fill out an application for a show in New York, but had to opt out due to becoming hired as a Syracuse Police Officer. Between the Academy's classroom time and physical training, there was no time for anything else. A few years went by and then in November 2009, I went to watch a local IFPA pro-qualifier in Syracuse, NY. Again that spark ignited and I was determined to compete.

Since then, March 2010, OCB "The Uprising" was my first show, where I placed 1st in the novice and open division, obtaining the overall. I then competed in April 2010, the OCB "NYS X", where I placed 2nd in the open division. I went on to compete two more times in 2010: August at OCB "Judgment Day," placing 1st in the open division; and October at INBF Rochester, placing 2nd in the open division.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Due to my work schedule I do limited cardio in the morning prior to work with my weight training, and the remainder of my cardio after work.

Day 1: Cardio/Chest/Abs/Calves
Day 2: Cardio/Back/Abs/Calves
Day 3: Cardio/Arms/Abs/Calves
Day 4: Cardio/Shoulders/Abs/Calves
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Cardio Only
Day 7: Cardio/Legs/Back

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Fitness has not always been a part of my life, but for the past 6 years, I have been working out on a regular basis. I am so grateful that I became active and did not continue on living a sedentary lifestyle. I am so much healthier and motivated in everything I do. Being physically fit not only makes me feel good about myself, but it is also very important to maintain my fitness level so that I can perform my job functions properly.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

First and foremost, my family is my main motivator. I want to continue to follow a healthy lifestyle so that I can maintain an active involvement with my soon to be daughter and boyfriend. My job is also a big motivator for me to stay healthy.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

I became very motivated by attending the Bodybuilding/Figure Competitions and told myself that this is what I wanted to do. No matter what goal I have, I always visualize it and go with it. I do not stop until I have accomplished whatever it is that I want to do. I am stubborn when it comes to that, and I do not settle for anything but what I am looking to achieve.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

At the present time I am expecting a baby girl in August 2011! After giving birth, I hope to begin competing as soon as I am able to. My goal is to obtain my IFPA Pro Status in 2012.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

One tip that I would give other Fitness Competitors is to set a goal and stick to it. Putting your mind to something and visualizing it can really help you reach your goal!
