How Did You Get Started?
I started weightlifting in high school. Then when I joined a career fire department, my husband brought up the idea of competing. We went to a bodybuilding show so I could see what it was like and then began training with a goal in mind. This year I have stepped up my training a bit and have a trainer.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love to go to the gym and see the constant progression of my body towards how I want to look. I enjoy making gains and lifting heavy weights.
What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?
Firefighting. Heart attacks are the number one killer of firefighters. There is no stretching or warm up time when the bell rings. A firefighter's body must be able to handle its pulse rate going from resting to maximum in seconds. Imagine what happens to your heart when you are woken at three AM by an extremely loud bell alerting you that the nursing home down the road is on fire and filled with 300 sleeping patients. There is no justification to be anything less than in top shape in this line of work. Lives depend on it.
What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?
My health. The competing is just an added bonus. A chance to get on stage and show off all that hard work. The real goal is to not have to worry about diabetes, cardiac issues, stroke or numerous other diseased that come with a stagnant lifestyle.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I am currently training to hopefully compete as a lightweight bodybuilder next May. I would love to eventually earn a pro card.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Enjoy yourself. Log your progress. Take pictures of how great you look when you are in contest shape. Keep on it.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
I don't have any favorites.
What Features Do You Use On Bodybuilding.com?
I have been an active member of BodySpace for over two years. I routinely post my progress pictures as a way to keep me accountable. No one wants to post crappy pictures of themselves on the internet.
