Our Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week was...
How Did You Get Started?
As you can see from the "before" picture, I was in need of some serious help. I had tried every diet known to man (or so it seemed) and had lost weight and gained back even more for years. It wasn't until I ran across the book Body for Life that I was able to have success. Having a more balanced approach gave me the results I was looking for. As the fat came off, I noticed I had a good bit of muscle. I have always admired Corey Everson and her bodybuilding physique, so I decided to compete in a bodybuilding contest.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
This split has me working each muscle group 3 times in a 2-week period. I would typically do 2-3 exercises per muscle group, 4 to 5 sets per exercise, and vary the reps depending on my focus at the time.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love the fact that you are always striving to better yourself. The nice thing is that you can look in the mirror and see the results of your efforts.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan on competing in the NPC's Junior USA and the NPC's Team Universe in 2004 provided I get adequate sponsorship.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Stay consistent. Stick to your plan. There will be so many people offering you differing opinions, so much so, that you can get confused about what is right. Stick to your plan and stay focused so you don't derail your efforts.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Corey Everson, Frank Zane, Colette Nelson.
