How Did You Get Started?

My Sophomore year in High-School I had a weight training class along with my best friend David, we started training and instantly became hooked from the response we got from our peers. As time went on, the more knowledge we gathered up until it became a lifestyle.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I believe training 1 body part a week with full intensity and urgency because you get one chance to really hit it hard. Come contest time, the frequency will vary as I'm always wanting to learn different pre-contest approaches.

    Competition History:
    2005 - 1st Place Northern Gold's Classic
    2005 - 1st Place Washington State Championships
2005 - 2nd Place: Junior Mens Class, Emerald Cup

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

In the off-season I don't count or measure calories, I just make sure to eat a plentiful supply of clean carbs and proteins and than I'll treat myself to restaurant dining and such on the weekends. I'll eat as many carbs and protein as I feel comfortable with all throughout the day and night.

Pre-contest, I eat 7 times a day and measure all macro-nutrients. Protein remains high throughout the preparation and carbs will get shaved off gradually as the contest approaches.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Protein Powders. Off-season I'll use a cheaper, bulk whey concentrate as I'm trying to put on size and come contest, I'll buy a more quality, carb-free isolate. Of course thermogenics have their place when controlling appetite and for energy and also a quality multi-vitamin and anti-oxidant complex to aid in deficiencies and immunity response.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Just how someone develops a love for Football, Baseball etc... It is just something I enjoy doing for myself and only myself. I don't care how others might view it because I do it because it is what I have a passion for.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Hopefully I place well at the Emerald Cup this month to see how I really measure up to others my age. After that, I hope to focus on a career in fitness and not to mention add on some quality, mature muscle to compete in a open-mens division once I feel I am of caliber.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Keep an open mind at all times, never think you know it all because in this sport almost nothing is conclusive or set in stone and everyone's body chemistry varies so be open for suggestions and never stop learning.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I tend to admire more of the aesthetic type physiques like Dexter Jackson, Troy Alves and Victor Martinez, even though Vic is on his way to being gigantic and aesthetic. A bigger guy I admire is Jay Cutler for being above 270 lbs with a nice mid-section.
