How Did You Get Started?
I started training in 1990 when my wife was pregnant with our first son. I weighed 135 lbs at the time. While my wife was pregnant I spent my time attending to her needs and she felt that I should have a little quality time for myself. I joined a gym and I was hooked!
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I workout 4 days a week
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I basically use a 40% Protein - 40% Carbs - 20% Good Fats year around. During the off-season I have a cheat day usually Saturday (yes I eat what I want). During competition training (12-16 weeks) I have one cheat meal weekly (you have to live). My carb intake consists of low glycemic carbs. My protein intake comes from lean beef, chicken and Salmon. As for fats I eat almonds, and flax seed oil.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because it is an individual sport where you the athlete can sculpture your body with dedication in training and dieting. We bodybuilders can relate to each other because we know the sacrifices it takes to compete and those sacrifices make us a winner!
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
Last year I won the bronze medal (men's open short class) at the International Natural Bodybuilding Association - Natural Olympia held at Auckland, New Zealand. That was the highlight of my bodybuilding career to date. This year I plan to compete at the NPC Tournament Of Champions and the NPC Border State Show in the Middleweight and Masters 40 Classes.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Bodybuilding to me is 80% MENTAL. In order to achieve your goal, whether it be competing in a show or just to improve your physique, you should apply the following to your mission statement "Achievement lies within the reach of those who reach beyond themselves".
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Lee Haney, Flex Wheeler and Shawn Ray.
