How Did You Get Started?

After I retired from the Navy in 2003 (21 years) I started bodybuilding instead of running and playing soccer.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Four days a week split. I use a lot of exercises that hit the whole body/multiple muscle groups. I have no set routine in stone. However I have my list of must do exercises: deadlifts, squats, weighted dips and pull ups, bench presses, shoulder presses and arm curls utilizing the Olympic bar.

I pick one or two other exercises for each body part in addition to those mentioned. For example I will do deadlifts for back, and then do rows or pull downs and that is it. I only do 2-3 sets per exercise. Intensity works well for me. I do no Cardio! Not even before a competition. I loose to much weight and muscle mass.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

NO JUNK FOOD. Carbs are my friend!

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Gaspari Supplements- Novedex XT in particular. I used it during my last pre-contest diet earlier this year with great results.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love the discipline involved...

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan on competing in several NGA competitions from late '08 until summer '09. I just did the CAN/AM here in Buffalo, New York. I would love to do some late shows in this year but I need to work on conditioning!

Contest History:

  • 2004 - Estonian (Europe) Championships: 2nd place, Master's Division 40+, 4th place Men's Open
  • 2005 - Baltic Cup (Europe): 2nd place, Masters Division 40+
  • 2007 - NGA CAN/AM Buffalo NY 6th place men's open
