Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week: Lisa Ann Moordigian

Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week: Lisa Ann Moordigian! - Pics and info and more!

How Did You Get Started?

I have played sports pretty much my whole life. I was always sort of a tom boy...still am, I think. I play pretty rough. Love contact sports and pretending I can kick some butt! I usually end up getting hurt, but I also love battle wounds! It's a sign of courage! I played city league softball up until junior high, and then started volleyball.

I played thru Jr. High and high school. My freshman year I tried out for the swim team and made Varsity team. I swam varsity for two years and went to NYL both years. After high school, sports seemed to fade out of my life. I joined a gym, but was young and did not know how to work out right or diet right.

I was what you would call a "cardio girl". I always drew a safety line for myself between the cardio and weights. Eventually I met a friend who introduced me to the weights and I slowly started incorporating them into my workouts.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I generally eat clean year round. My body is not carb sensitive, so I incorporate complex carbs with 4 of my 6 meals. I keep my calorie intake high, because of my fast metabolism. My favorite meal is 3/4 oats with a scoop of CytoSport Whey Cookies & Cream protein & 1 tablespoon of all natural peanut butter. I eat every 2 1/2 to 2 hours, to keep my 'Furnace burning.'

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I believe muscle is beautiful. The gym is my sanctuary where I can relieve everyday stress on my own. The human body is amazing and seeing hard earned results gives me a natural high. The bodybuilding lifestyle is just that...a totally different lifestyle. Not everyone understands that and realizes all the hard work, determination and dedication it takes.

But that's my passion. I kind of explain it to be my "sick passion". Then people seem to understand! I love the high I get after a good workout. There is nothing like it in my life. Results come next, and there is no explaining how fascinating the human body really is until you, yourself, can sculpt it. I enjoy people asking questions about my lifestyle. Some get it, some don't. But I DO! And I can never imagine a day with out it!

When I competed I never placed lower than 2nd and was granted an overall. Even after 16 weeks of dieting there is nothing like the few minutes on stage where you get to show off your hard earned results and dedication.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I don't know or have near future plans to compete. I love the modeling and developing a fan base. I want to stay fit for myself and my fans right now. I have thoughts of doing a figure show. But I also can't imagine going on stage and not striking a pose. Is that silly? I strive to take one day at a time and we will see what the future holds. I do have a goal of stepping on a National level stage at least once! Wish me lots of luck!!!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Never get discouraged regardless of where you place, it's a selfish sport. As long as you get better each year....you have succeeded.
