How Did You Get Started?
I was born with a sunken chest. In the 70's, my Dad started me with weight training to correct the problem. Doctors discouraged weight training at such a young age. They claimed it would stunt my growth. The bench presses and pull-overs reversed my medical condition. Surgery wasn't necessary. I continued pumping iron to condition myself for high school gymnastics. In 1980, I entered my first bodybuilding, the Mr. Teenage Minnesota.

Training four days a week off-season brings pretty good results. It takes four days to complete the entire body. As a show approaches, I bump it to six days a week. I believe less is better in the iron game. If you train with high intensity, results will come!!
Monday/Tuesday/Friday: 30 minutes of cardio, alternating elliptical, treadmill, and bike.
Abs are done every workout.
Increase weight on each set.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I keep the diet pretty clean all year, with one cheat day per week. The diet is high protein, moderate carbs, and low fat. My protein sources include tuna, turkey burger, chicken breast, and egg whites. Carbs consist of brown rice, potatoes, oatmeal, and vegetables. My good fats are MCT'S, flax seed oil, and natural peanut butter. I consistently drink 1 gallon of purified water every day.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?
As a lifetime natural bodybuilder, it has built discipline in all areas of my life. Bodybuilding has helped strengthen my mind , body, and soul. It has been a blessing to help others reach their fitness goals. This positive lifestyle opened up several opportunities in judging, personal training, and seminars. I also love drug-free bodybuilding for all the health benefits.

I'm currently training for the Mr. Natural USA. I will be guest posing at the 2007 Mr. Natural Minnesota. I'm also booked for a bodybuilding seminar and contest judging.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Consistency is the key to successful bodybuilding. My motto is train intensely, eat nutritiously, and rest adequately. Be patient and stay drug-free. Nothing worthwhile is easy! Bodybuilding will help you conquer anything in this short life.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Russ Testo and Lee Haney. These Christian bodybuilders have helped thousands of people. I respect their integrity and personal ministries. I love Russ Testo's motivational scripture verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
