How Did You Get Started?
I have always been a very large and strong kid but a very fat one at that, when I was 17 years old I had 17 ½ inch arms with no weight training at all. I was very self reliant and introverted or what some people would call a loner. Later I would find out that being a loner was great if you wanted to be a successful bodybuilder.
I had to take a PE class in high school and everything else was full, so I decided to take weight lifting because it was the only thing left. I hated weight training, I was so sore I almost dropped the class. Then one day I woke up and saw these humps on both sides of my neck and then had these lumps developing behind my arms. Shoulders, legs and chest were the last to come.
So I told myself that if I actually do this, maybe I can become a bodybuilder, so I trained the whole summer right before I started college and then I came across a bodybuilding site teenbodybuilding.com and saw the teen amateur of the week. I saw the competition on the site and knew that I would win if I sent my pictures, so I sent them and I won the teen amateur of the week.
The last 7 years of my life have been devoted to transforming my soul, mind, and body. So that commitment that I made to myself to build my body has transformed into a very successful career, I built a business off of the way that my body looks.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
- Monday - Back
- Tuesday - Chest
- Wednesday - Off
- Thursday - Legs
- Friday - Arms/Abs
- Saturday - Shoulders
- Sunday - Off
If I have a photo shoot coming up I will do 20-30 minutes on the stair stepper or elliptical machine after my workouts. With my jobs that I do now I have to stay relatively lean all year round so my diet is kept in check.
I have never really set to a certain workout plan; every workout is very different for me. I always like to keep my muscles guessing, hitting them with all different angles and vibrations every workout. I do keep my reps on the higher side though. I do 12-20 reps. I like the detailed vascular look and the separation that higher reps give me.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I try and eat every few hours but it is hard right now with school so I do what I can with what I have.
- Meal 1: 1 whole brown egg, 3-5 white egg whites, 1 pack low sugar oatmeal
- Meal 2: 2 scoops protein powder
- Meal 3: steak or chicken with brown rice
- Meal 4: steak or chicken with greens
- Meal 5: 1 whole brown egg with 3-5 white egg whites
- Meal 6: Protein Shake
When I am on the road or on tour it is mostly protein shakes mixed with oatmeal and roasted chickens from Safeway, or subway, the chicken and tuna on whole wheat bread always double meat. If I have time I will stop at a Denny's or some sort of truck stop and get a steak and eggs.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
Where do I begin because of that one little thought that I had in my head over 7 years ago to transform my body has taught me things and taken me places that I would of never thought were possible, because of bodybuilding I am a successful business owner of Christian Steel Productions, which is a male and female entertainment industry (www.christiansteele.com).
I have traveled all over the US performing in almost every state working with groups like Men of Playgirl, Ultimate Males(which I own),Hunks and Babes, and Hardbodies Northwest. Most of all I never get sick of the wide eyed looks that I get from people or the group of giggling girls that gets very quiet as soon as you walk by.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I am going to continue to try and further my education and body right now, but as far as future plans people have always asked me if I am a wrestler so it has been one thing on that I might just try out and see what happens. I am no Batista but it would be fun to stand to someone who is bigger than me at my height.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Bodybuilding has taught me things that I would have never imagined the drive, motivation, and dedication that it takes to transform your body makes everything else in life look easy compared to what you have just done, if you do it with all your heart. You will never be able to eat every meal that you should and you might miss a workout or two it's ok that's ok, just remember that the worst feeling is letting yourself down.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Batista, Mike O'Hern, Gabe Mohan, Evan Centopani
