How Did You Get Started?

In high school I weighed 95 pounds. I absolutely hated being the tiny kid and having little chance of competing in sports due to my size. So I decided to hit the gym, hard. I started seeing the progress and fell in love with weight training and exercise. I played sports in college and continued to lift and entered my first competition last year.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I think it is important to change up the workouts every now and then. Every few months I will go back and forth from higher rep workouts to lower rep. It seems to be a good balance that works for me. I do cardio 2 times a week and stick to low intensity work. I use a 5 on 2 off split. I have abs scheduled in the workout. Doing a set of abs and back to start my workouts 3 days a week is something I recently started doing but the way it warms up and strengthens my core is great.

Day 1: Shoulders/Traps/Arms
Day 2: Calves/Forearms/Cardio
Day 3: Quads/Back
Day 4: Calves/Forearms/Cardio
Day 5: Full Body
Day 6 And 7: Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

In the off season I do not follow a strict plan. I eat fairly clean naturally and make sure I consume plenty of protein and carbohydrates to fuel and recover from my work in the gym. But, when I am trying to cut down I like to deplete and raise the carbs over a few weeks. A carb deplete over a 3 week period seems to work best for me in keeping my muscle but shredding the fat.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

In my 10 years of lifting, my must have supplements have been a pre-workout, preferably SuperPump, a good whey protein, and creatine. I have added in L-glutamine and amino acids and they seem to work great as well.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It is a constant battle. You are challenged every day to make yourself better and push yourself harder. You can see your own success in the mirror and it gives me a chance every day to tell people what a gift it is to have a passion for fitness and how blessed I am to be able to do this sport.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I believe that this body is a gift from God and I am going to make it the best it can be, and hopefully encourage others to follow a healthy lifestyle as well. God has given me a passion for fitness and every day people ask me what supplements I take or what workouts I do or if I can write them a workout.

I try my best to take advantage of those situations and share why I am so motivated to stay healthy in a non overbearing way. Having those opportunities to share my passion with others motivates me every day.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

After being the skinny kid for so long I wanted to put on the weight. After high school I tried to continue my fitness and create new goals in a few different sports; football, powerlifting, MMA, and none of that worked out. People have always asked me if I compete so I decided to set a goal to compete in 6 months and I did and fell in love with the sport.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I am going to continue to compete in natural bodybuilding. I would love to get my pro card in the next few years and compete in the natural Olympia. I would love to be on the cover of a magazine some day and get to share my passion with others.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Surround yourself with people who make you want to be better and continually push you and encourage you. It will be a mutual relationship and build a strong foundation for any goal you desire.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Jeff Willet! I am a natural competitor and looking at him and listening to his talks gives me hope that I can reach his level some day. Just knowing that he is a natural competitor and has reached the level he has is amazing and shows what true dedication and hard work can do.
