How Did You Get Started?

My fiancé is a bodybuilder/boxer and seeing him get ready for a show really inspired me to challenge myself. I was at one of his shows where Kelly Ryan was guest posing and seeing her made me realize that I needed to make some changes in my life. Being a personal trainer, my fiancé started training me and as we started seeing results, he kept telling me that he thought I had what it took to compete. Throughout the course of getting ready for my first show, I had a couple of injuries and setbacks that were somewhat discouraging. My fiancé stood behind me all the way and reassured me that I was going to do great and no matter what, he was proud of me! I did my first show last year and won, now I have the BUG to turn PRO! I want to say "Thank You" to my fiancé for keeping me focused, training and putting up with me while I'm getting ready for my shows and for being my #1 fan!

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love fitness because it's a way of challenging myself to be the best that I can be. Also, it is something that I truly enjoy doing and know that I am good at. I feel that fitness is a way of life for me now, it's almost like an addiction. I love being able to help other people that have been down the same road that I have been on before, and show them that if I can do it, anyone can. Not to mention, who doesn't feel better when they have a six pack, a six pack of abs that is!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I am currently training to compete at the Southern States show in Florida this August and then I will be getting ready to do Nationals in Miami, Florida this November. My hopes are to become the first Pro Figure competitor from Alabama and compete with Jenny Lynn and Monica Brandt and rank in the tops with them.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

No matter how hard you train there are going to be disappointments and setbacks along the way, keep your chin up and stay focused on your goals! The outcome may not always be what you THOUGHT or SHOULD have been, but treat each contest as a learning experience and never give up. Turn your number 1 weakness into your number one strength and DO IT FOR YOU!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

"The Fitness Twins" Natalie Klein and Adria Carroll, they have helped me reach my goals of being more confident in myself and have taught me that competing should be fun and not like being in high school again. Not to mention, they are from Alabama to! My favorite figure competitor is non other than Jenny Lynn, she is so awesome. She is my favorite because she is so beautiful, tall and has had to work really hard on her legs and glutes just like myself.
