How Did You Get Started?

I have always loved the gym atmosphere, but it wasn’t until two years ago that my close friends Gerard Laraque and Susan Brunson convinced me to do a show with them. It changed my whole perspective in terms of setting a goal and achieving it, to view my body with an ideal of making improvements for the better. I haven’t looked back since.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

During the on-season, it’s mainly chicken and tuna as my whole food protein source. I will supplement with Protein Powders and/or MRPs to make sure that my protein intake stays above 200 grams a day. Off-season, steak and chicken are my favorites. Also during the on-season, I tend to keep my carbs between 50 and 100 grams a day through vegetables and salads, with a couple of days of carb loading thrown in with rice and potatoes.

I will tweak that number if necessary depending on my conditioning and weeks away from a contest. Off-season, I don’t monitor carb intake as strictly, since it is my objective to grow. Fat intake year round, I try to keep less than 70 grams a day.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Without question, Protein supplementation has been my closest friend. I definitely can tell a difference when I am off the Protein supplementation for a while, my strength definitely goes down, and my muscle don’t have that full feeling. That’s why I try to make sure that I keep the Protein always stocked and ready.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Bodybuilding has meant many things to me, and has given me many wonderful character-building values. It’s the one thing in life that I have stuck with thru broken relationships, problems at work, and every other problem that adults have on a daily basis, bodybuilding has always been there. It has provided me with a strong sense of self-achievement, as well as self-confidence.

As I have grown as a person, and had changes take place, bodybuilding has been a constant. Truly, the greatest sensation for working and dieting hard, is the fun I have on stage and realizing that I accomplished a goal, regardless of my placing. Plus it’s the desire to be better than the previous time on stage. Without question, it’s the one thing that I will never give up as long as the desire and bodily health remain with me.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I would like to compete more within the NPC, and have more class wins than I have experienced thus far. Hopefully, within the next couple of years, I want to be very competitive at the Junior National level, and ultimately nationals as a middleweight or light-heavy weight.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

My advice would be to stay the course. Gratification in this sport is not something that can be measured everyday, but it will come in time with consistent hard work and dedication. Never become frustrated due to what one would view as a lack of progress.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Ronnie Coleman just for his ultimate size. I have always admired Lee Priest as well, because he gives short guys like me hope. He has great symmetry and muscularity. And finally my family in this sport, Gerard Laraque and Susan Brunson who gave me support and encouragement in my preparation for my first show, as well as all the others that have followed since then.
