How Did You Get Started?

I started by just lifting for basketball and because I was big. I never dieted or anything until a trainer at the local gym I was going to asked me to train with him for a bodybuilding contest in Austin - The Texas Shredder. We didn't know really what we were doing, but we dieted by the magazines and it worked well enough. I ended up getting 1st in the teen division and 1st in the Novice Men's heavyweight. I competed again at the Alamo Classic the next year and got 1st in the Open Men's heavyweight.

Most recently I joined Team Klemczewski and dieted with Dr. Joe for the NPC Texas Shredder this year. I got third in the hardest show I've ever done, and looked my personal best.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I try to train instinctively so that I never get bored with what I'm doing. Most of the time I will start with a heavy basic movement (press, squat, deadlift, etc), and then move into other exercises varying the reps and adding in supersets and drop sets when needed. So a typical chest day would be like this:

TERMS YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW
Pyramids - Increasing the weight with each new set while decreasing the number of reps. The weight is then reduced and the reps increased.

I'm really more concerned about the mind muscle connection and getting as much blood into the muscle as possible rather than worrying about rep ranges and sets.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

For me personally what has worked best has been a high protein, moderate carb, and low fat daily diet. I eat the same macronutrients 5 days of the week and then 2 of the other days I bump up my carbs to keep my metabolism going. I lose very quickly on this sort of diet along with weights and cardio.

I don't get caught up in eating the super strictest of meals, as long as I get the right macronutrients and keep them healthy I eat what I want. I enjoy it too, and get many compliments and requests for my recipes.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It keeps me on track for a healthy lifestyle. When I know I have a show up there is no way I'm going to cheat because I know that will cost me later. It is fun seeing the changes week by week when you are preparing for a show. It's a hobby not everyone can do, but one everyone admires and I love it.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

Seeing the great results I get from it, and knowing that it will lead to a longer healthier life. Also, I feel mentally and physically bogged down when I don't follow a great nutritional plan and workout regimen. I would rather feel great all day by eating the good foods than slow and lethargic and eat what the rest of America eats.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

My dedication to anything I do. I put my whole heart into whatever I want to accomplish and do not deviate from it in order to be my very best. The sense of accomplishment of achieving my goals is amazing.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan to keep competing. I want to win my WNBF pro card before 25, and compete nationally in that as well as the NPC, hopefully the Team Universe.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Stay consistent and dedicated and you will reach your goals.

Arnold, Lou Ferrigno (most people say I look like him), Evan Centopani, Dave Goodin, Ronnie, Mark Dugdale.

What Features Do You Use On Bodybuilding.com?

I like using the BodySpace which helps me track my goals and show other users my updated pictures. I get really great feedback from certain users every time and I really appreciate it. I also use the online store to order my supplements because shipping is cheap and extremely fast.
