How Did You Get Started?
In the summer of 1979 I saw my cousins Tony and Tommy sporting the biggest 16 inch arms I'd ever seen (lol-lol)! I asked them to show me how to make my arms like theirs, so they took me to the back yard of our neighbor Michael's house where they showed me how to curl and bench press and I was on my way from there...
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I train on a 5 day rotation. For example, it takes me 5 days to train my entire body so on day 6 I either take that day off or begin my 5 day training cycle again. It all depends on my energy levels but if I'm feeling great I may not take a day off until 10 or 11 days down the road, you have to remember this sport is from the HEART not from the books.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I follow a basic nutrition program, in the off season, I pretty much eat whatever I want "but" I keep my protein relatively high even though I'm eating everything I want. During my pre-contest phase I follow a simple nutritional plan which is extremely high in protein while my carbohydrate intake is low to moderate. This helps my physical conditioning go from off-season to cut, to shredded within weeks. Cut and shredded are worlds apart!
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I get the greatest gains from my food intake believe it or not. In the off season I gain a lot of new size as long as I keep my calorie count high. Again, I keep my focus on maintaining a high level of protein. Now during my pre-contest time, I still rely on my food intake but I do add a multi-vitamin. Keeping it simple works really good for me.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because you can totally change your entire appearance with two things, hard work and discipline, it's kind of like being an artist and creating the body you've always wanted.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan on turning pro in the 2007 season.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Believe that you "can" and don't ever quit. There's an old saying that I like and it is: "Quitter's never win and winners never quit." I refuse to quit!
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
This is easy; "BIG" Ron Coleman for taking the sport to another level (the freak zone).
Flex Wheeler for dominating the sport the way he did when he first turned pro win after win.
