How Did You Get Started?

I was waiting on the bus on my way home from school. I heard music playing and looked up to the gym. I felt like I needed to get in there... I don't know why. So I went to the gym and got my membership right away. I didn't do any sports for about 3 years prior to that time. I started working out and wanted to go as much as I could because I really loved it right away.

After working out for about a month people started telling me my body changed and I should consider competing. I never seen a fitness competitor or figure competitor in my life so I went on the Internet to see what it was all about. I came across some pictures of Monica Brant and thought to myself "this is what I need to be doing!" I went ahead and found myself a trainer that helped me with my first two competitions.

I did my first competition after about 3 months of working out. I ended up third. I qualified for the Dutch Nationals. I did the Dutch Nationals after 4 months of training and placed third there too.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I like to switch training styles every now and than. I love training with low reps and heavy weight. Off season I was doing leg press with 240 kilos (530 pounds) and doing squats with 120 kilos (267 pounds). After doing that for about 4 weeks I like to switch and train with lighter weights and more reps. I love to do squats and do 25 reps and then change the position of my feet. Then I do another 25 reps without rest and change the position of my feet again. Another 25 reps and then rest. These are just examples of the things I love changing in my workout plan. By changing my workout plan I keep myself from getting bored. This way I have a lot of fun in the gym and stay motivated.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I had a nutrition plan for the off season that I really didn't like. I had to eat more then I wanted and felt like I was stuffing myself. My man is a bodybuilder (Jonathan Later) and I was really eating like him (but less off course). I now changed my nutrition plan. I'm eating less meals and I'm not taking any cabs after 7pm. This feels much better to me. This way I don't get fat off season and I don't feel like I'm eating too much.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I don't really use that many supplements at the moment. All I take is a whey shake in the morning mixed with my oatmeal.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love working out because of the feeling it gives when you have a great pump. I love what fitness does to your body too. You can keep your fat% low while keeping nice curves. Fitness also changed my attitude. I feel more confident in my own body.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I'm going to be competing at the world championships next September in Spain. I'm working hard to get the best results I can. I'm very motivated to train and make it to the pro's one day. At the moment I'm also getting ready for my first trip to the US as a fitness model. I'll be working with a lot of fitness photographers. I try to get the most out of my trip. If it becomes a success I will be back to do more shoots soon!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Don't focus on what the other girl looks like. Look at your own body and think of what you want to change and how you could change it. Build your body to become what you want it to be and work with what you got.

Another thing I wish I had known before: People might say nasty things to you on the streets, on the Internet or even at competitions. Why? I don't know. One person tells you that you are way to muscular for a woman or will even say you look like a man. The other person will tell you your not muscular enough and will tell you it looks like you don't even train. You will hear things like "She has such a nice body but a ugly face!" or "Such a pretty face but that body?? UGHL"...

Don't pay attention to what other people say. Make sure you are comfortable in your own skin. Believe in yourself. What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger right! Keep your goals in mind and you will be successful.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I don't have just one particular figure/fitness competitor I like. I admire all of them for what they do. Jonathan Later is my favorite bodybuilder though, the worlds hottest too.
