How Did You Get Started?

My 2008 New Years Resolution was to stop hating the way I looked and felt and to do something about it. I walked into my local gym when I was 47 years old, weighed 83 kg (183 lbs) with a body fat percentage of about 38%.

It was so high that the gym owner had to guess it as the book didn't got that high! I emailed Jo Stewart (NZ IFBB Pro) and asked for a training and diet program and then did exactly what she told me to do!

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Bodybuilding has taught me discipline and to believe in myself. It has opened up a new world of health and fitness. I have met so many new friends worldwide through this sport. It has given me strength, passion and happiness.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I feel fabulous and look even better than when I was 35! I am proud of myself and love being able to get up and get dressed without struggling through my wardrobe trying to find clothes that fit.

I have the blood pressure of an 18 year old and the calcium and iron levels of a healthy 20 year old woman. I love watching my body change.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

I wanted to be healthy and happy and be able to enjoy my grandchildren. I was miserable and ashamed of how I looked and would not go to the beach even though I lived only 2 minutes walk from one.

I couldn't enjoy my Harley as I couldn't fit into my bike leathers. I wanted to show that anyone of any age can change themselves into a fit and healthy person.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I have already competed twice, placing 4th out of 8 in my first show the INBA Brisbane Titles and then 4th out of 7 in my second show the ANB Asia-Pacific International.

I have qualified for the INBA Natural Olympia being held on the Gold Coast of Australia in October and I will be competing in the Masters Figure Class.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Listen and learn from people who are passionate and positive about this sport and ignore the negative comments from the jealous lazy people.
