How Did You Get Started?

I had always wanted to compete, but wasn't sure how to get started. I have been very active for the past 10 years, but mostly did cardio and very little weights. I had always thought that if you lifted weights you would get big and bulky.

Last year at the gym a friend suggested an upcoming contest and we decided to train together. I had always worked out, but never really lifted weights all that much. After training in the gym for several months on my own, another friend introduced me to Chris Eaddy who is now my trainer.

After training with him for several weeks, he encouraged me to do a show sooner than I had expected and I ended up placing first in my class and then went on to win the overall championship.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

My current workout plan is training 2 body parts per day, 4 days per week. Chris also had me cut back on my cardio to 30 minutes per session. Prior to that I was doing almost 1 hour per day which was too much for me. It's very important to find out what works for you.

    30 minutes cardio on an empty stomach
    Chest and Back
    Abs

    Tuesday:
    30 minutes cardio on an empty stomach
    Legs and Glutes

    Wednesday:
    30 minutes cardio on an empty stomach
    Abs

    Thursday:
    30 minutes cardio on an empty stomach
    Bi's and Tri's

    Friday:
    30 minutes cardio on an empty stomach
    Shoulders and Abs

    Saturday:
    30 minutes cardio on an empty stomach

    Sunday:
    Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I eat 6 small meals per day and cycle carbs with high, medium and low days. I also drink 1 gallon of water everyday.

Example Meal Plan:

    Meal 1
    30 gram whey proteins shake w/water and flax oil apple or banana

    Meal 2
    5 egg whites and 1 whole egg
    1/2 cup oatmeal

    Meal 3
    30 gram whey protein shake w/ water
    Apple or banana

    Meal 4
    5 oz chicken breast
    3/4 cup rice
    1-2 cups broccoli or asparagus

    Meal 5
    30 gram whey protein shake w/ water

    Meal 6
    5 oz chicken breast
    1-2 cup asparagus or broccoli










What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I love the Nitro-Tech because it's low in carbs and tastes good. It also has tons of vitamins! I also take glutamine which has helped after workouts.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love fitness/figure because it keeps me focused on a goal. I also enjoy maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle and competing in figure has taught me habits and discipline that I believe will last a lifetime!

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I just received my personal training certification last year so I am excited to establish a career in that field. I plan to compete this fall in a national qualifying event and after that eventually go on to earn my pro card!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Well, it's hard to just give one, but first find out what works for you. When I got started I read so much about what other people did and thought I had to do the exact same thing they did to get results. Remember every body is different!

Don't ever give up on yourself or your goals and find a great trainer/coach that you trust fully and who pushes you to the max!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite competitor is IFBB Pro Figure Competitor Marcy Porter! I had the privilege of learning her posing techniques and gaining so much insight from her about competing in figure. She is so disciplined and dedicated not only to herself, but her clients as well.
