How Did You Get Started?

I have been working out since I was about 16 years old. I started training for my first figure show in September of 2009. I had been approached by different people at the gym saying I should do a figure show. I started a fitness company that offers on-line training and a dietary supplement. I felt like doing a figure show could be a great way to advertise my business.

I decided to do it and kicked my butt in the gym for the next three weeks to get in shape for the show. I had the greatest time getting prepared for the show. I met so many wonderful people in the process. I enjoyed being on stage and loved the way I looked and became hooked to competing.

I have done 3 Figure shows in the last 9 months. I took 3rd in my first show, 2nd in my second show, and 1st overall in my third show and received my Pro card. I have competed in one bikini show. I love competing, and now I am training others to help them get ready for their next show.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I have never hired a personal trainer for training. I have trained myself since I was 16 years old. I run 4-6 days a week, trying to average 20-25 miles a week. I do my cardio first thing in the morning. I normally run anywhere from 3-6 miles a day. I also do a 45 minute spin class a week. I work my abs 4-6 days a week as well, and I do abs for about 20-30 minutes. I lift weights about 3-4 times a week. For an example:

Day 1: Cardio/Abs

Day 2: Upper Body

Day 3: Cardio/Abs

Day 4: Cardio/Legs

Day 5: Cardio/Arms/Back

Day 6: Cardio/Abs

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Influence - it's a supplement for energy, appetite suppression, and fat burning. I love sweets and this really helps with my cravings and helps me to stay on my diet.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love being in the best shape I can be in. I love all the people that I met while training and competing. I love training for figure shows and feeling like I am working for something. I love feeling healthy. I love the energy that I have.

I love being able to fit in my clothes. I love getting compliments from others about how I look. I love that people look up to me and ask me for help and advice in meeting their fitness goals. I love working hard and feeling like I have something to work towards. I love being somewhat of a fitness icon within my circle of friends and family.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

Different things motivate me at different times. I am motivated to get in shape for figure shows because I want to look the best I can on stage. I want to present the best and look the best. I am motivated during the summer because I want to look good on a boat. I want to feel comfortable in my swimsuit. I am motivated by the way I feel when I go to the gym or when I eat healthy.

I feel happy and energetic when I eat healthy and when I workout hard. I am motivated by my job, and I own a fitness/supplement company. I want to be in good shape and know about healthy eating and working out so I can help my clients. I want to be someone that others can look up to in the fitness world, and someone that others can relate to.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

I'm the kind of a person that if I set a goal I have to achieve it. What helps me achieve it is the satisfaction of knowing I can do anything I set my mind to. I have had a lot of support along the way in helping me meet my goals though. My sister has always supported me and tells me how proud of me she is. My mom is also very supportive and always believes in me.

My boyfriend Shawn has taught me that anything in life is possible, and if there is something you want, or something you want to do then set your mind to do it and do it! I have accomplished things I never even dreamed of since I met my boyfriend. His support and his belief in me have helped me set and achieve my goals.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I recently received my pro card in Figure, so I would like to compete in some pro shows. I am planning on competing for Body Evolution in the ABA Utah show in September 2010. I am hoping to place in that show and then go to Nationals to represent team USA. I have started specializing in training Figure and Bikini girls for their competitions, and I love it.

I am hoping my career will expand and I can work with more and more girls and be present at all local Figure/bodybuilding shows with competitors in them. I offer online training packages for figure and bikini girls, which are very detailed and interactive through email and phone calls. I would love to be recognized as a leading Figure/bikini trainer.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Be as ready as you can be for your show. Diet hard, workout hard, pose and do your routine daily. If you have prepared for your show, you can tell yourself, "Don't be nervous, I am ready for this! I have practiced this! I belong here and I'm going to do great!" Feel confident about yourself and your hard work. And just have fun with it!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I'm fairly new to all this, so I only know some local competitors that have been in shows with me. There are so many neat girls that I have met along the way. I love watching Pete Stokes and Kelly Moore on stage; they put on great body building shows.

I love watching Karlee Hoskins on stage. I love watching all the girls do figure, seeing them smile and enjoying themselves. I love competing against the girls as well; they are all so friendly and wonderful people. I have especially enjoyed competing with Maradeth, Stephanie, and Vanessa.

What Features Do You Use On

I love to buy protein powders, protein bars, competition oils, and tan product for shows from the Store. I love the prices, and the fact that everything comes so quickly. I have recently started a BodySpace and I'm just learning how to use it. I also read many articles on the SuperSite. I have found good recipes and great competition tips.
